The lights are back on at State Farm Arena, and this time, all eyes are on the women. WWE is pulling up to Atlanta this weekend for a back-to-back event takeover featuring Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12 and the all-women’s WWE Evolution on July 13. Among the headliners commanding that ring is Jade Cargill, the Queen of the Ring, a history-making powerhouse who calls Atlanta home.

This weekend is personal for Jade. It’s not just another match—it’s a moment of alignment. “I live here,” she told BOSSIP’s Lauryn Bass. “This is home.”

As WWE Evolution unfolds inside the city’s iconic arena, Jade isn’t just showing up—she’s showing out.

Booked, Busy, and Built for This

When BOSSIP asked what the biggest challenge of WWE life is, Jade didn’t sugarcoat it.

“The constant travel,” she said, eyes focused. “I just got home, got up at four o’clock in the morning, and I’m here right now. Tomorrow I have to travel to Tennessee, then Orlando, back to Tennessee for a show Friday, come back here for a meet and greet… and then we have Evolution on Sunday at 6:30.”

The schedule is relentless, but Jade’s mindset is solid.

“Before I came in here, I had to take a deep breath,” she said. “When I’m in my hotel, I take time to just breathe, take in the energy of the room before I go out there. Because as soon as you leave your hotel, it’s game on.”

Still, she finds joy where she can—vacations to St. Lucia and Turks and Caicos, holiday trips to the Botanical Garden with her daughter, meals at her go-to Atlanta spots like Umi, and relaxing in nature at Piedmont Park.

A Queen With a Crown and a Calling

Jade isn’t just a WWE superstar; she’s a symbol. Since signing with WWE in 2023, her presence has captivated fans worldwide, racking up over 20 million views and solidifying her as a real-life superhero for a new generation.

“I know who I am,” she said. “I had a very supportive family growing up… regardless of what everybody thinks about me, it’s what I think about myself. I have a little girl at home, and she needs to know she can do any and everything she puts her mind to.”

That’s not just talk—it’s stitched into her gear.

“I wear broken glass because I’m here to break glass ceilings.”

Black Women in Sync: The Power of Partnership

Her tag team with Bianca Belair wasn’t just a flex; it was a cultural reset.

“Rather than everybody thinking we’re going to work against one another, we’re like, ‘Let’s shock the system and work with each other,’” Jade said. “We did something that’s never been done with those tag team titles—and we lifted them.”

She also paid homage to Naomi for setting the tone.

“Why not do that for the next generation?” she said. “We’re just here to create footsteps.”

Evolution Isn’t Coming—It’s Here

This weekend’s Evolution event is a milestone moment for women in wrestling. Jade will be sharing the card with legends like Trish Stratus and Nikki Bella, and she’s not intimidated—she’s inspired.

“We’ve had the Four Horsewomen—phenomenal women in their own right,” she said. “But we have so much more to go. This is just the beginning. We’re going to continue to demand more.”

When fans fill State Farm Arena Sunday night, she says they should expect nothing short of greatness.

“Loud, proud, and powerful. You’re going to see beautiful attire, women holding their head high, owning their crown. I am the 2025 WWE Women’s Queen of the Ring.”

From ATL to Everywhere: Jade’s Story Comes Home

Even with a movie on the way—True Threat, starring Jonathan Majors—Jade’s priority is clear.

“Right now, I just want to dig deep into wrestling and make this my foundation. Everything else will come, God-willing.”

She is currently preparing to stand in the ring in Atlanta, in front of a roaring crowd, under arena lights that once felt far away. But, she’s not just wrestling.

She’s fulfilling prophecy.

Catch Jade Cargill live at WWE Evolution this Sunday, July 13 at 6:30 PM inside State Farm Arena. Tickets for all weekend events are available now at Ticketmaster.com.

A trailblazer in music, film, and television, Queen Latifah has earned Grammy, Emmy, Golden Globe, and NAACP Image Awards. She broke new ground as the first female rapper to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and continues to champion representation across entertainment. Outside of music, Latifah has been a staunch advocate for health and housing. In March, the “U.N.I.T.Y” rapper was a key figure behind the Truth About Weight campaign, spreading awareness about the dangers of obesity and cardiovascular disease, according to USA Today.

The hip-hop legend was also a vital force behind the RISE Living project, an affordable housing community that she launched alongside a group of real estate investors in her hometown of Newark in 2024, NewsOne previously reported.

Donna Brazile

A legendary political strategist and New York Times bestselling author, Brazile broke barriers as the first Black woman to manage a U.S. presidential campaign, running the campaign for former Vice President Al Gore. She twice served as interim Chair of the Democratic National Committee and led the DNC’s Voting Rights Institute, according to her website. Currently, she continues her service on the DNC’s Rules and Bylaws Committee.

Brazile is the author of the bestselling political memoir, Cooking with Grease: Stirring the Pots in American Politics (2004) and Hacks: The Inside Story of the Break-Ins and Breakdowns That Put Donald Trump in the White House (2017), a New York Times bestseller. She also co-authored For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Politics, which earned the 2019 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work, Nonfiction. Her latest contribution appears in the upcoming anthology, Wake Up America: Black Women on the Future of Democracy

The 65-year-old trailblazer has also extended her wisdom and knowledge to the classroom, serving as an adjunct professor in the Women and Gender Studies Department at Georgetown University and as an educator with the King Endowed Chair in Public Policy at Howard University. She has lectured at nearly 250 colleges and universities, teaching on informative topics like diversity, equity, and inclusion; women in leadership; and civility in American politics.

The athletic world is buzzing as one of its brightest stars, eight-time Olympic medalist, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, announced her retirement from competition. This monumental decision marks the upcoming end of an unparalleled career, but for fans in Jamaica, it also brought a bittersweet farewell as she recently graced her home track for the final time.

For years, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, aka “Pocket Rocket,” has been far more than just a sprinter; she’s been a powerful symbol of inspiration for Jamaica and Black women globally. Rising from humble beginnings in Kingston’s Waterhouse community, she famously became the first Caribbean woman to win Olympic gold in the 100m at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. This was merely the prologue to a glittering career that saw her collect three Olympic gold medals, four silver, and one bronze, matching her fellow Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt’s Olympic medal count. She also boasts an incredible 10 World Athletics Championship titles, including an unprecedented five 100m world titles (2009, 2013, 2015, 2019, 2022). Her 2019 win famously made her the first mother in 24 years to claim a global 100m title, and at 35, her 2022 win solidified her as the oldest sprinter ever to become world champion.

Fraser-Pryce has consistently defied age and expectations, proving that greatness knows no bounds.

According to Forbes, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce made her retirement announcement on Friday, June 27, during a press conference after competing at the Jamaica National Stadium in Kingston one last time. However, she reassured fans that she would be competing in the World Championships being held in Toyko in September 2025. Her retirement will follow the 2025 season.

“I’m just grateful to be able to be here tonight finishing healthy and be on the team to Tokyo,” she stated.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce Retirement: A Farewell on Home Soil & Future Global Runs

On June 27, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce graced the National Stadium for what became her farewell competitive appearance on Jamaican soil. Competing in the Women’s 100m final, she finished third with a time of 10.91 seconds, behind national champion, Tina Clayton (10.81s), and runner-up, Shericka Jackson (10.88s). The stadium erupted in cheers, affirming her status as the people’s champion, and showering her with love and appreciation for her unparalleled career.

Fraser-Pryce’s third-place finish successfully secured her a spot on Jamaica’s team for the 2025 World Athletics Championships, set to take place from September 13-21. While her time competing on home turf has concluded, fans will have at least one more opportunity to see the “Pocket Rocket” blaze on the global stage before Fraser-Pryce’s retirement at the end of the 2025 season.

Beyond the medals and record-breaking times, a significant part of Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce’s enduring legacy is her vibrant, authentic, and truly relatable personality. Whether it was her variety of colorful hairstyles that became an extension of her fearless character, or her candid and humorous moments off the track (like playfully “obliterating” other parents at her son’s school sports day), Shelly-Ann has consistently endeared herself to fans worldwide.

We wish her the best with her retirement.
