During the seminar titled “Pathways to Soar: Unlocking Impactful Leadership,” held in Anaheim, California, the storied organization welcomed four powerhouse women as honorary members: Olympic track star Gabby Thomas, and supermodel trailblazer Beverly Johnson, CNN anchor and legal analyst Laura Coates, and former White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. With more than 9,000 members gathered from around the globe, the ceremony marked a moment of inspiration, excellence, and Black girl magic.

According to a post shared on the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Instagram page on July 14, all four of the extraordinary women selected for the honorary member award were chosen for being FIRST in their excellence in leadership, groundbreaking achievements, and transformative service that uplift communities around the world. 

“Welcoming these phenomenal women into our Sisterhood is a powerful testament to our legacy of distinction,” International President & CEO Danette Anthony Reed told Watch the Yard. “Their voices and vision will further strengthen our mission of impactful service to all mankind.”

In an Instagram post, the ewly inducted honorary members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. expressed heartfelt gratitude and excitement following their induction.

Former White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre shared her disbelief and joy, saying, “I can’t believe it. You all won’t believe it. I am now officially a member of the beautiful sorority, AKA. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

CNN anchor and legal analyst Laura Coates echoed the sentiment, saying, “Hey everyone, I’m Laura Coates. Can you believe it? I’m officially a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.”

Olympian Gabby Thomas also celebrated the honor, stating, “I’m so thrilled to be a member of the beautiful Alpha Kappa Alpha! I’m so excited to start my new journey of Sisterhood!”

Supermodel and trailblazer Beverly Johnson shared a deeply emotional message: “I’m so honored to be a sorority sister. I cannot tell you how proud I am. I cannot tell you, my heart is so full. I can barely speak, but thank you God!”

Not only that, but Tuesday, the newest honorary memebers were featuredd in a social media post posing for pics with their heads held high and their ivies up.

“Heads held high, and Ivies up.. Because this is a Serious Matter!” the official Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Laura Coates, CNN’s Chief Legal Analyst and Anchor, is the first and only Black woman to hold the title. Before joining CNN, Coates served as a trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, focusing on voting rights enforcement, and later as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, where she prosecuted serious felony cases including drug trafficking, domestic violence, and sexual assault, according to her website.  

In 2016, she authored the bestselling book You Have the Right: A Constitutional Guide to Policing the Police, demystifying citizens’ Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendment rights, and advocating for greater police accountability.

Now the host of Laura Coates Live on CNN, she continues to bring clarity to pressing legal and political issues. Notably, Coates delivered extensive coverage of last year’s presidential race, hitting the ground in places like Michigan to talk with voters and hear their reactions. She has also had a pulse on the intense sex trafficking trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs, delivering updates along every step of the case, a testament to her commitment.

On Monday (July 14), Azealia Banks reportedly posted images of Conor McGregor standing nude in his birthday suit on his actual birthday, apparently after a workout, and shared them to her popular X page. Banks, as she’s known for, used her razor-sharp tongue to dress down McGregor’s photo dump and made disparaging remarks regarding his, ahem, situation.

“How you gonna send a b*tch some crooked d*ck pics then threaten her not to tell… do you know who tf I am?… THIS IS HARAM,” Banks wrote.

McGregor reportedly caught wind of Banks leaking the nudes, allegedly writing in a text, “Don’t be a rat cos all rats get caught.”

Banks looks to have scrubbed her page of the images and spent the bulk of Monday and Tuesday (July 15) addressing fans online while admitting at one point that she and McGregor have been doing the nude pic swap dance since 2016.

As it usually goes with Azealia Banks, trying to keep up with her tweets and replies to fans online is a task in itself. The talented New York rapper who is currently living abroad didn’t make any apologies for her actions, even with some saying the move bordered on revenge porn. McGregor didn’t address the leak on his X account, focusing instead on his new combat sports ventures and celebrating his birthday.

Earlier this week, eagle-eyed internet investigators spotted a familiar face in the background of Megan’s latest summer vacation post on Instagram. During her photoshoot, the mystery man settled into a lounge chair for a closer look at her sizzling snaps. And who could blame him? It’s hard to focus on anything else besides the super snatched perfection of Thee Stallion, but countless comments caught Klay Thompson in the cut and set social media ablaze.

Welp, once fans already put the baller on blast, Klay decided to really give us something to talk about. On Saturday, Klay took to Instagram with a photo dump of his vacation, which turns out to be a tropical baecation in the Bahamas with the Hot Girl Swim stunner herself. In one photo, Klay is kissing a woman with flowing curls so big that they almost blocked his 6’5″ face. Although the woman’s back is to the camera, we’d know that colossal cake-clapper from a mile away, especially in those curve-hugging cream pants.

Another photo features a close-up of Klay holding Megan’s meticulously manicured hand as he leads her down a path to what looks like a sandy beach. We don’t get any additional glimpses of what looks like a very romantic date night, but fans have seen enough to stan the new celebrity couple.

Several comments joked that although the 35-year-old star is a four-time champ, they weren’t familiar with his game until now. The second-generation NBA star’s past romantic roster is as stacked as his stats. Klay keeps a ring and a baddie on his hands! He previously dated actresses Laura Harrier and Eiza González, and multi-hyphenate hottie Coco Jones.

Megan Thee Stallion most recently popped out with Bulls player Torrey Craig in 2024. It seems like the Grammy winner quietly kept it pushing after his ex threw some shade, and a model accused him of dirty dog DM diving during the relationship. Now, the hotties are celebrating that their fave moved on to bigger things with the future Hall of Famer.

Basketball fans claimed this further confirms that Klay is all the way back in his bag. He already got a makeover, ditching his fluffy fro for a throwback to his low cut. Between the sea-sickening waves and the ultimate wobbledy-wobbling wonder on Klay’s arm, he’s seemingly in his prime to collect another championship ring like an infinity stone.

If anyone can bring even more heat to the upcoming NBA season, it’s the Hot Girl Coach herself, and we truly love to see it!
