Summer Walker Drops ‘Finally Over It’: Here’s What Fans Are Saying – Blavity
Summer Walker is finally over it.
The Grammy Award-nominated singer/songwriter dropped the final installment of her Over It trilogy, aptly titled Finally Over It. The 18-track album sees collaborations with Chris Brown, 21 Savage, Anderson .Paak and others, including the lead single “Heart of a Woman,” which Walker released in October 2024.
‘Finally Over It’ is a two-part album following Walker’s self-acceptance journey
While 2019’s Over It and its 2021 follow-up, Still Over It, see Walker delve into her stormy love life, Finally Over It tracks her journey toward self-acceptance. On the two-part album, Walker focuses on embracing who she is for better or worse. That wedding vow, which aligns with the rollout’s overarching matrimonial theme, also provides the titles for Finally Over It Disc 1 and Disc 2.
“For Better is about choosing me, fully and finally. I’ve made choices that didn’t always make sense to anyone else, but I don’t regret any of them. They all taught me something,” Walker wrote about Disc 1 in an Instagram post. “Every heartbreak brought me back to myself. I’m not looking for someone to complete me; I’m already whole. I’m protecting my peace, honoring my worth, and sitting in a softness that’s still strong.”
In another slide, Walker explained that Disc 2 is not a “bitter” but “honest” portrayal of her rejecting love and accepting her shortcomings.
“I’ve loved too hard, ignored red flags, and tried to fix things that were beyond repair. The difference now is I love myself that deeply, I’ve grown, I’ve healed, and I refuse to accept anything less than princess treatment,” she wrote.

According to Complex, Walker has teased the album for a while with singles like “Heart of a Woman” and “Spend It” dropping months ahead of Finally Over It. The singer also attended the MTV Video Music Awards with an older gentleman who seemed to portray her sugar daddy. Clips of the couple on the red carpet quickly went viral on social media, with many speculating whether they were actually boo’d up. The duo also appears on the album’s cover art, inspired by the 1994 wedding photo of 27-year-old Anna Nicole Smith and 89-year-old J. Howard Marshall.
Walker announced the new album’s tracklist and list of collaborators on Monday, sharing a two-part Spotify video with behind-the-scenes clips of the singer’s “wedding” and a seating chart graphic of featured artists, songwriters and producers on the project. GloRilla, Latto, Bryson Tiller, Sexyy Red, Brent Faiyaz and others are also featured on the album.
