Keke Wyatt Responds After Son Says She Told Him His Cancer Was ‘Karma’ For Being Gay

Keke Wyatt is responding after one of her children, Rajah Morton, accused her of being homophobic and making a hurtful remark about his cancer.

During the 2023 reality television series Keke Wyatt’s World, Morton, who is 23 years old, shared that he was diagnosed with Stage 4 leukemia. Once diagnosed, he spent four years receiving chemotherapy.

“My mom had got the call. It was in the middle of the night, and my pediatrician was like, ‘Rush him to the children’s emergency room immediately!’” Morton explained on the show.

“There was definitely a lot of times where, you know, I was second-guessing myself like ‘Is this really worth it?’ ‘Do I really wanna sit up here and put up this fight?’” he added. “Cancer sucks. It really does.”

Keke Wyatt’s son says his mom made homophobic comments

As Blavity reported, Morton recently took to social media to blast his mother. Rahjah uploaded a video on TikTok of himself playing the popular “Put A Finger Down” game in which players start off holding up all five fivers before placing a finger down for each statement that applies to them.

“Put your finger down if you were diagnosed with cancer as a teenager and your parent decides to publicly announce your diagnosis for personal gain and attention, but behind the scenes saying, ‘Your diagnosis is karma for you being a part of the alphabet mafia’ and if they known you were going to turn out like this, they could’ve kept their money,” he said in the now-viral clip.

Keke Wyatt denies being homophobic to her son

After Morton’s video went viral, Wyatt wrote a statement and published it via her Instagram profile.

“I will publicly address this one time only,” the R&B songstress wrote. “I love my son, and I love all of my children. I love all people. Anyone who truly knows me understands there is not a homophobic bone in my body.”

“Like any parent, every day is not sunshine — but my love for my children never changes,” her statement continued. “I kindly ask that you respect our family, keep us in your prayers , and allow us the privacy to move forward in peace. Love Y’all, KeKe .”

Many fans claim they weren’t surprised due to Wyatt’s appearances on R&B Divas: Atlanta, Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars and Keke Wyatt’s World.

“Based on her behavior on tv, I’m definitely thinking she did whatever he said she did. She seems to be a bit unhinged,” one person commented under The Shade Room‘s Instagram post about the matter.

“Girl, we saw how your own mother talked to and about her child in front of you and you said nothing,” another person wrote. “So she as a mother may not have said homophobic things to your son, but we also saw how keke’s mama said some homophobic hateful things to her son while she was sitting/standing there or in the presence and she said nothing to check her.”
