The rumors start during one of BenDaDonnn’s livestreams. BenDaDonnn received a phone call stating that the police had raided a man’s home, leading many to believe he was referring to rapper Pooh Shiesty, according to Power 105.1.
DJ Akademiks also stated on X that the rapper’s real name, which is Lontrell Denell Willia,ms, Jr. appears in the Federal Bureau of Prisons records with an April 11, 2026 release date.
Akademiks took to X to share an update: “So slight update, the facility they claim he’s located at is a Halfway house for inmates who are about to be released. Also his release date seems to 3 months from yesterday. Most half way houses will house an inmate for 3-12 months of the ending of their bid.”

“What’s unsure is if he was listed as in custody when we saw him obviously being free (shooting music videos etc). Confirming more details shortly,” he continued in a thread.

DJ Akademiks confirmed that Pooh Shiesty’s record label reached out to him and said the rumors of him being arrested are false.
“UPDATE: Pooh Shiesty record label reached out to me and confirmed that he is not in jail. Apparently his April date existed since his ‘release’ and he’s on home confinement until April like he has been the whole time since his release,” he wrote.
Pooh Shiesty also addressed the rumors, writing, “Can’t tell the Internet dumb a** nothing.”

Why was Pooh Shiesty in prison?
As Blavity reported, the rapper was released on Oct. 6, 2025, after being incarcerated at a high-security prison in Pennsylvania, where he served a 63-month sentence.
He was sentenced in a Miami federal court in April 2022 after pleading guilty to firearms and drug charges as “part of a deal that dropped three other charges.” The rapper reportedly shot at two people who arranged a meet-up for weed and sneakers during the incident.
