Bigger problems and a more expansive worldview are in store for Fallout fans when they watch Season 2 of the popular Prime Video series.

The cast members of Fallout Season 2 told Blavity’s Shadow and Act how their characters are learning even more about themselves and the overarching mystery of Vault-Tec.

Walton Goggins, who plays the Ghoul, said that his character starts learning more about his beloved wife Barb’s (Frances Turner) involvement in Vault-Tec’s dystopian scheme to remake the world in its image.

“W] pick up the season where we left off in the past, and that him finding out that his wife is one of the principal architects for the ending of the world and his journey,” he said. “His exploration for me was a guy who is just trying to make sense of the world and how chaotic it is in the hysteria around him, and none of it makes sense, and [he’s] trying to make sense out of it. So, I can’t wait for you to see where the story goes, but it is emotiona,l and it is deep, and it resonated deeply with me.”

Frances Turner says Barb was a mystery to her at the beginning of the show as well

Turner said how Barb was just as much of a mystery to her at the beginning as she was to Fallout viewers.

“In Season 1, I just knew her as [a] wife [and] mother. And as each episode went along, I learned more as I read the scripts the same way you guys learned more. In Season 2, we’re gonna see a lot more of her interior life,” she said.

“She’s [a] very complex, very nuanced character, so we get to see more of that and what’s driving her, her wanting to make sure that her family, especially her daughter, is safe,” she continued. “And we’re gonna watch her walk that kind of moral and ethical tightrope because she is participating at something at Vault-Tec. And we’re gonna learn more about…why she’s making the choices that she’s making and what those choices are and the consequences of those choices along with seeing how that affects her marriage to Coop.”

Aaron Moten on Lucy’s influence on Maximus

Aaron Moten, who plays Maximus, described his character as going on “another big adventure and [will] learn a lot again.”

“I think we get to see this great influence that Lucy is on Maximus and really change his outcome, as he’s found himself at the start of our second season in this new role with the Brotherhood of Steel,” he said. “But we also get to see these new elements as we deepen our broad strokes of this world that we’re creating…we get to see these new circumstances come up and it…becomes extremely complicated, how these things are all affecting each other.”
