Diddy Sentenced To 4 Years In Prison For Prostitution-Related Charges – Blavity
On Oct. 3, Sean “Diddy” Combs was sentenced to four years in prison for prostitution-related convictions. Because Combs, who is 55, has already served 12 months while in custody, he will sit in prison for three years. Judge Arun Subramanian also ordered Combs to pay a $1 million fine.
In July, the disgraced hip-hop mogul, who founded Bad Boy Records in 1993, was acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges. The jury, however, convicted Combs of transportation to engage in prostitution charges.
During Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ sentencing, he apologized to his former girlfriends
Moments before being sentenced, Combs apologized to his ex-girlfriends, friends and family. He described his previous actions as “disgusting, shameful and sick” before admitting that his five children “deserve better.”
Assistant U.S. Attorney Christy Slavik pointed out to Judge Subramanian that Combs had already booked speaking engagements for the week of Oct. 6.
“Even now at sentencing for his conviction for two federal crimes … he doesn’t fully grapple with how his actions got him here,” Slavik said in the courtroom.
Yung Miami called Diddy ‘a good man’ in her letter supporting him before he was sentenced
Ahead of Combs’ sentencing, Yung Miami, one-half of City Girls, wrote a letter to the judge supporting him. Yung Miami dated Combs from approximately 2021 to 2023.
As Blavity reported, the 31-year-old rapper called Combs a “loving, genuine, supportive, and always encouraging” person in her letter before saying that he “belongs at home, with his family.”
She also saluted Diddy for seeking therapy: “He made the choice to check himself into anger management, start therapy, and commit to physical healing through therapy. That takes strength, humility, and self-awareness.”
Yung Miami’s fans slammed her across social media over her letter supporting Diddy. One fan wrote, “Why are folks surprised about Yung Miami’s support for the Diddler? On multiple occasions she said how much he’s helped her career and her actions shows she has no problem standing by him—despite him being an abusive and sadistic prick—as long as she’s taken care of financially.”
Another fan tweeted, “Yung Miami makes music glorifying getting money at any cost she is living the type of ethos that were always in her work. A lot of rappers glorify exploitative behavior and exploit people in real life. There needs to be a serious conversation about this.”
Music producers Stevie J and Dallas Austin also wrote letters to the judge supporting Diddy.
