In one of the most uplifting moments of the It: Welcome to Derry finale on HBO, a character killed off during the season comes back for a thrilling conclusion to the current Pennywise saga.
Rich (Arian S. Cartaya), who dies in the seventh episode of the first season, does appear again in the season finale.

Unfortunately, the series did not bring the character back to life, but it should serve as a satisfactory conclusion for fans who wanted the character to get an uplifting send-off.
In the kids’ work to defeat Pennywise (Bill Skarsgård) by putting the artifact at the tree, they are met with much resistance — including Will being influenced by it — and the spirit of Rich helps get the kids across the finish line.
As Dick Hallorann (Chris Chalk) can see ghosts, he sees Rich appear and run over to his friends to help them as the artifact is put into the tree, and this Pennywise cycle is over.
What does Dick tell Rich’s parents?
Dick sees Rich’s ghost once again at the young boy’s funeral. Dick sees Rich go over to put his hands on his parents’ shoulders, and they seem to feel his presence. Dick goes over and tells Rich’s parents that the hand they feel on their shoulders is that of their son.
He tells them their boy is there and he always will be. As they cry, Rich’s father asks Dick who he is, and he replies, “I’m still working on that.”
What happens to Dick at the end of ‘It: Welcome to Derry’?
Dick stops by near the end of the episode to tell Leroy Hanlon (Jovan Adepo) bye and says whatever happened “quieted those voices down real good; hopefully forever.” He says that he’s leaving that night to take a bus to Boston and then will fly to London, where he has a friend who owns a hotel and wants to give him a shot cooking in the restaurant.
Leroy says if he runs into any trouble, he knows who to call and that he owes him. Dick says he thinks he’ll manage and asks Leroy, “I mean, how much trouble can a hotel be?” They then hug before Dick departs, telling Leroy to keep in touch — especially with any updates about Will (Blake Cameron James) and Charlotte (Taylour Paige).
