Singer D4vd has been identified as a suspect in the death of a 15-year-old girl whose body was found in September in the trunk of a Tesla registered to him, according to a source from the Los Angeles Police Department who is familiar with the investigation.

D4vd has not been cooperative with police in Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s death

D4vd, born David Anthony Burke, has not been arrested, and no charges have been made, according to NBC News. The source also confirmed that the 20-year-old has not been cooperative in the investigation, but his attorneys argued against those claims in September, stating that he was “fully cooperating with authorities.”

The teen girl, Celeste Rivas Hernandez, of Lake Elsinore in Riverside County, was reported missing last year, Police said.

She most likely died in the spring, and Burke most likely had help dismembering and disposing of the body, according to the source, per NBC News. Hernandez’s body was found on Sept. 8 in the trunk of a Tesla at the Hollywood Tow lot in Los Angeles. Police believe she had been dead for several weeks before discovering the remains, Blavity reported.

At the time, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office ruled the manner of death as a homicide, but the cause of death has been ruled as “deferred.” ABC News reported that investigators expect to determine the cause of death soon, which a source said will likely pave the way for an arrest and potential charges.

What did police find after searching D4vd’s home?

The Los Angeles Police Department Robbery-Homicide Division had been investigating Rivas’s death since September. After Hernandez’s body was found, the LAPD issued a warrant to search Burke’s Hollywood Hills home. Investigators seized computers and other electronic devices for forensic analysis, according to Blavity.

Burke had canceled all U.S. tour dates and several European dates after police had discovered Hernandez’s body. He also ended his lease at the Los Angeles home where he was living at the time.
